This is the fiftieth installment of West Wind, your daily drop of thoughts, ideas, and info for this Season.
June begins this week! As with every new season, some things have to be cleared away to make room for the new. Because of that, this will not only be the last West Wind post on Substack, but the last post on Substack at all. Extraordinary Seasons, the newsletter/blog/short story/serial division of ZMT Books, will be moving to a new site and and new experience, effective now!
This is different from other “Why I’m leaving Substack” posts, since I’m not going to rant and rave about people or politics. The biggest reasons for moving are mechanical; this platform just doesn’t do what I need it to do. It’s nothing personal.
Everything on this site will remain where it is, it won’t be shut down anytime soon. The standalone short stories are available for reading and listening on the new site, but the Octave and V-ALT serials aren’t. I have plans for those later. All Frontier Flora content is still up on World Anvil.
Don’t worry about signing up again, if you’ve gotten this post in an email, you’ll be getting updates from the new service as well. If you’re subscribed to my other mailing list and been wondering where the monthly ZMT Books Dispatch newsletter is, it will be coming very soon, better than ever before. That’s another one of the reasons why this change is happening.
